Mint and Seafoam

(Etsy screenshot captured on 4.26.12)

How delightful is this? I decided to browse Etsy today and this lovely collection was on their front page. Forget pink; I honestly think seafoam and mint green are my new favorite colors. On a related note, I found a lovely ivory fascinator to match my Tiffany blue dress. I can't wait to take my senior pictures this Sunday. :)

Vintage Inspired Loveliness

I am getting my senior pictures taken this Sunday afternoon. After days - well, let's be honest - weeks of indecision, I have finally chosen the two outfits that I'm going to wear. As much as I wish one of those outfits could have been this dress by Ruche, it was sadly not meant to be. This gorgeous teal lace dress is out of stock. Not to worry though, because I managed to find a lookalike dress last week. Yay!

My real dress is floral damask instead of cotton lace and it's closer to Tiffany blue than teal - not to mention that it has cap sleeves, but it is very similar to the Ruche dress. I would like to find a pretty fascinator like the one shown above, although I would definitely want something a lot smaller. I'm thinking that maybe just a white or ivory flower with a small birdcage veil would be pretty...or would that look too bridal? I'm going to the mall with my BestFriend later today to try to find hair accessories that would work. Wish me luck!

Pixel Me Pretty

After waiting for nearly three weeks, I finally got the call I'd been waiting for on Monday morning. My new glasses had finally come in. (They were on back order.) Yes, these are prescription glasses since I'm very nearsighted. I'm thinking of doing a Style Post with these glasses on in the near future because I know you all have only seen me in contacts. I feel so smart and sophisticated (in a semi-nerdy way) in these!

On Tuesday night, Lucas and I attended an Angels game. It was a promotion night and we both received free Albert Pujols bobbleheads. The Angels ended up losing, but I still had a lot of fun. For one thing, this was a Gayle and Lucas date night. Second of all, Dan Haren was pitching! I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but I have a huge crush on him, mostly because I have a thing for men with beards. :) I snapped this picture just as he was about to throw another pitch. As soon as I took the picture, Lucas looked over my shoulder and said, "Are you done now?" Haha. Good times.

My grandma, my younger brother, and I went to go run some errands on Thursday afternoon. Afterwards, we stopped by Yogurtland. This might be my #1 favorite yogurt and toppings combination ever: green tea yogurt with brownie bites, chocolate chips, and chocolate syrup. So, did I feel guilty for eating that much chocolate? No, not really. No regrets...it was delicious.

My mom and I had a late lunch/early dinner date at Macaroni Grill on Friday afternoon. I love this restaurant. The food is very good and the lights suspended from the ceiling are very pretty. To add to the amazingness (Yes, I made up that word), we even got a free dessert: Lemon Passion Cake. So, do you think I felt guilty about eating that too? Well, maybe just a little bit...but it was worth it.

If Pemberley Rose were a dress...

...it would definitely be this one:

I kid you not, I literally gasped out loud when I stumbled upon this on Tumblr. The embroidery, the bow, the pale blue chiffon overlay, and those sleeves - yes, this dreamy dress is Pemberley Rose personified. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll just go back to daydreaming about owning this dress and sipping iced tea on the veranda. :)

Pixel Me Pretty

Introducing Pixel Me Pretty, a new weekly feature documenting my life through Instagram photos. I hope you all enjoy taking a glimpse into my world. Also, feel free to check out all my other photos here.

To avoid having to pay $180-ish on a parking permit, I park in a neighborhood off campus. This wooded pathway is what I walk past every time I go to school. Thanks to the magic of cell phone photo filters, this pathway now appears to be where fairies dance in the sunlight.

I discovered Artbox at the Irvine Spectrum about a month ago and I am officially obsessed with their variety of notebooks. I love all the bright, springy colors. I treated myself to four of these cute, inexpensive notebooks in complementing colors and patterns.

The smallest notebook has all sorts of cute pictures and scribbled text, making the task of filling out a blank notebook much less daunting. My favorite picture was this pink donut, which reminded me of Homer Simpson. Haha.

Doesn't this look amazing? It's the Sundried Tomato Pesto Penne pasta dish from The Lazy Dog Cafe. Faustina recently discovered this restaurant when she went to their happy hour with a mutual friend. She loved their food so much that she and I ended up going to brunch there the very next day. One of the servers gave us free flat bread too. Score!

Lucas and I were driving through a creepy old Marine Air base on Thursday and afterwards decided to stop by Tapioca Express. (I know, random.) He got spicy chicken nuggets and I got spicy calamari. We also shared an almond milk tea.

On Friday, I stopped by the grocery store after class to grab a quick snack. There were all sorts of pretty flowers at the front of the store that caught my eye. I love these pink flowers!

These hydrangeas were equally lovely. The pale blue ones on the bottom remind me of a watercolor painting.

One of my favorite pieces of jewelry. This Juicy Couture bracelet sits on my nightstand. I am currently trying to find creative ways to store and display all of my other jewelry.

Senior Picture Time!

Haha. Do you recognize me? Since I'll be graduating from college in exactly one month and one week (eek!), I thought it'd be fun to post my high school senior pictures. It'll be great to compare this set to the college senior pictures I'll be taking soon.

Here's the thing though: I've picked up my commencement ceremony tickets, bought my sash and tassel, and even joined my school's alumni association, but I am still far from ready for that exciting day. I have no idea what to wear for the photo shoot and for graduation day under my cap and gown. I would love to find a dress similar to the one I wore for the photo on the right - something with a square or scoop neckline and cap sleeves. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on what I find.

Anyway, have a great weekend!

A rose is a thing of beauty

I had a second blog on Tumblr a while ago. (I think my last post on it was around September-ish.) Anyway, I pretty much abandoned and deleted that blog because 1) I had no idea what I was doing at the time, and 2) It quickly became pointless since I rarely updated it. That being said, I'd like to invite you all to check out my new and improved secondary blog, A rose is a thing of beauty.

I'm already starting to understand what people mean when they say that Tumblr is addicting. I plan on using mine to post images that don't quite fit into any of my Pinterest boards but are still way too gorgeous to not document somehow. After all, who doesn't love to be surrounded by pretty things?

Hello, Instagram!

As many of you know, the ever popular photo app Instagram finally became available for Android this past week. Despite an overwhelming amount of snobbery from some iPhone users (eye roll!), I was one of the super excited Android users who jumped at the chance to finally join in on the fun. I imagine this app will be a great tool to help me document my daily life in photos.

This is a photo of mine and Luke's shoes from when we were waiting in line at Disneyland. It was our two year anniversary and we figured there would be no better place to celebrate than at the happiest place on earth! Most of the elementary to high school kids were on spring break though, which meant long lines galore!

I snapped this photo of Luke while we were sitting on the couch, flipping back and forth between the Angels opening day game and the Lakers game. Obviously, he was just thrilled to have me taking random pictures of him.

This is one of my favorite purses for spring, even though I did use this purse for Thanksgiving. By the way, I will admit that I cheated. I actually edited this photo with pixlr-o-matic and then uploaded it to Instagram. I highly recommend that you all check out that app too. It has way more filters and special effects than Instagram, even though it's pretty much useless in terms of social networking.

This is my first self portrait taken with Instagram. I was having my first good hair day in a long time. This is currently set as my profile picture on Facebook and Pinterest.

I am absolutely in love with my boyfriend's grandparents' backyard. Isn't this such a cute garden shed? It reminds me of a little barn or an old schoolhouse.

Here is another treasure I found at Luke's grandparents' house. Yes, he did have an afro in high school. Haha. I really can't help but laugh every time I see this picture. And I'm also grateful that he no longer has this hairstyle.

Feel free to follow my photo stream here. :)

Style Post 4.1.12

I'm not really one for April Fool's jokes. Instead, I have another outfit to show all of you. :) My family had a big party at my uncle's house yesterday and this is what I wore. I'm beginning to really like the idea of long top + shorts, especially in one color. I felt like I was wearing a romper, without the hassle of having to take it off to use the restroom. Haha. Oh, and by the way...does this pink tights and blue shoes combo look familiar?

Do you like my necklace? I bought it with the Nordstrom gift card that I got for Christmas (after two months of indecision). I love the different colors on it and how the striped bow adds a preppy touch.

Enjoying the view. My uncle's house sits on top of a hill and it has great views on three sides. It's fun to go outside and look at all the surrounding houses and hillside. It was pretty cold though and I probably should have brought something a little warmer than my 3/4 sleeve cardigan.

Top: Studio M Petite. Cardigan: Forever 21. Shorts: Charlotte Russe. Tights: Forever 21. Color Block Mary Janes: Vince Camuto. Necklace: Juicy Couture.
